The cake itself was fine, no real complaints there. But somehow I ended up getting charged twice at checkout, which made the whole thing way more stressful than it should’ve been. It took longer than expected to get a straight answer, almost like no one really wanted to take ownership of what happened. The refund did come through eventually, but the payment side definitely left a bad impression.

I ordered from Send a Cake for my sister’s birthday because I was trying to send something cute without overthinking it, i’d been seeing these pop-up cake boxes online for a while. It was definitely a fun moment when she opened it, and she thought the whole box surprise was cute. That said, the cake itself was small, so it felt more like a quick little birthday surprise than a full-on gift. For what it is, it worked, especially since she lives a few hours away and I couldn’t just drop something off myself. But next time I’d probably send this along with flowers or an actual present too. Cute idea, just not something I’d call amazing.

The cake showed up on time, which was great, but the order actually wasn’t what I picked. I chose a specific design and message, and it came different. It still worked out okay, I guess, but for the price, I was expecting them to get the details right.

Naturally, I reached out to customer service to request a price match, but the company refused to adjust the price. To make matters worse, they were even charging less for rush shipping than what I had already paid.

The lack of flexibility and consideration for existing customers left a very disappointing impression. It’s frustrating to see such a significant price drop so soon after purchase and receive no effort from the company to make it right. Unfortunately, this experience has made me hesitant to order from them again.

It was a really cute surprise and definitely got the reaction I was hoping for. The only downside was the confetti somehow ending up in every corner of the room, because apparently I wanted to be vacuuming for the next three days. Fun idea, slightly annoying cleanup.

I thought it might be a little pricey at first, but it ended up being so worth it because the cake was super fresh, the surprise went exactly how I hoped, and my sister absolutely loved it, so I was really happy with the whole thing
